How can an Agent help an applicant pay for their penalties?

This service allows users to pay penalties, including administrative, transport, travel documents, visas, and permit penalties. It is provided by DGIE (Rwanda Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration).

The processing time is 7 days and the price depends on the desired travel document.

 Prerequisites: 

  • Applicants should have their Identification document number ( National ID number or Passport Number)

  • Applicants should have a valid phone number, email address, or both. 

Follow these simple steps to help a user pay their penalties:

  1. Visit www.irembo.gov.rw and log into your agent account.

  1. A small window will pop up. Fill in both your phone number and your password, then click login.

  1. Click the "new application" icon to start a new application.


  1. Under the Immigration and Emigration category, Click on the service link “Foreigner Travel Document”.

  1. Click Apply.


  1. Enter the applicant’s identification number (National ID or Passport Number). The amount to be paid will be displayed on the right-hand side of the screen depending on the penalty category and sub-category.

  1. On the next page verify that the user’s information is accurate. Enter their phone number and/or email address, check the verification box, and click Submit.

  2. A billing number/ID (99….) will be generated for payment. Applicants can pay using their preferred payment ooption i.e MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money, BK App, BK Branches, BK Agents, or pay online using VISA or MasterCard.

Note:

    After applying and paying successfully via IremboGov, the applicant will receive a feedback notification from the DGIE office. The applicant can also download their proof of payment on Irembo and present it at DGIE to waive their penalty.
