This service allows agents to apply on behalf of garage business operators to be registered and obtain an operating license from Rwanda Inspectorate, Competition, and Consumer Protection Authority (RICA). RICA will conduct a field visit to ensure the premises are compliant with RICA standards and regulations.
The processing time is 5 Days, and the service is Free of charge.
Prerequisites:
Applicants should have a valid company TIN.

Proof of staff qualification as prescribed in RS 402 Garages
Working contract for staff
Copy of garage insurance document (building, personnel, tools/equipment, and vehicles)
Copy of garage ownership/ lease, or rent documents
Copy of Job Card
Copy of the working procedure in the garage
Copy of cleaning procedure
Complaint handling procedure
Copy of customer complaint form
Passport copy
Business Registration certificate from RDB

Follow these simple steps to help an applicant apply for a Garage License:
Visit the Irembo platform at www.irembo.gov.rw and log into your Agent’s account.
A small window will pop up. Fill in both your phone number and your password, then click login.
Click the "new application" icon to start a new application.
Under Trade and Industry, click on “Business Operator License".
Select "Garage License" and then click "Apply."
Fill in the applicant's details (select if it is a business representative category, age group, and other required personal information).
Enter business details, Select if it’s a new application or an application to renew a registration, and fill in the company TIN.
Upload the required attachments in the correct format, then click next.
Verify that the applicant’s information is true, enter their phone number and/or email address, check the verification box, and click Submit.
An application number (B2…...) to track their application status will be provided.
Note:
Upon successful submission, the application will be processed by RICA. Applicants will receive an email or SMS notification about any changes in the application status.
Once the processing officers approve their application, they will receive their e-certificate via email or can download it on IremboGov.
