How an Agent can help a User apply for Correction of their Criminal Record Certificate.

This service enables you to request for correction of the information on your criminal record certificate. Your certificate must be valid for six months from the day it was approved and you can only make one claim. This service is provided by the National Public Prosecution Authority(NPPA).

The processing time is 7 daysand the service is free of charge.

Prerequisites:

  • This service is eligible for Rwandans with national IDs, foreigners with Rwandan Foreigner IDs, and refugees with Refugee IDs.

  • An applicant should have the application number for the criminal record certificate that is still valid and needs correcting.

  • Applicants should have a valid phone number, email address, or both.

Follow these simple steps to help a user apply for this service:

  1. Visit www.irembo.gov.rw and log into your agent account.

  1. A small window will pop up. Fill in both your phone number and your password, then click login.

  1. Click the "new application" icon to start a new application.

  1. Under Criminal Record And Investigation, click the “Criminal Record Certificate” link.

  1. Select “Correction of Criminal Record Certificate Details” from the drop-down menu.

  1. Click Apply.

  1. Enter the Application number linked to the criminal record certificate you wish to apply correction for.

  1. Fill in the processing details including the claim reason and explanation.

Note: Ensure the applicant inputs the reason for the claim as clearly as possible in the claim explanation box.

  1. Verify that the information is true, enter a phone number and/or email address, check the verification box, and click Submit.

NOTE: Please check in with the applicant to ensure all information provided is true and accurate.

  1. An application number will be generated so the user can follow up on the application status.

After successfully applying, the applicant will receive an SMS/Email notifying them that their certificate is available and that they can download it from the IremboGov platform.

Additionally, when an applicant enters their email address while applying for the service, the certificate will be sent to that email. There is no need to download it from the platform.
