How an Agent can apply for lost and theft certificates on the user’s behalf.
This service provides assistance in obtaining lost and theft certificates for individuals who have experienced the loss or theft of their valuable possessions (documents, various tools, etc..). The application is sent to the nearest Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) station for evaluation and processing. Here's a brief guide on how an agent can help a user apply for this service.
The processing time for this service is 1 day, and it is free of charge.
Prerequisites:
Individuals must have a National ID, a Passport number, a Foreigner ID, or Refugee ID
A company must have a TIN number.
The certificate is valid for 1 month.

Follow these simple steps to help an applicant apply for a lost and theft certificate.
Visit the Irembo platform at www.irembo.gov.rw and log into your agent account.
A small window will pop up. Fill in both your phone number and your password, then click login.
Click the "new application" icon to start a new application.
Under Criminal Record and Investigation, click on “Lost and theft certificates".
Click Apply.
Fill in the applicant’s details ( category, civil status, parents names, residence details,.....).
Enter case details ( declaration category, which is lost or theft, Item category: Document, electronic device.
Select the nearest district for the RIB station, which will process the user’s application.
Upload the required attachment in the right format, then click next.
Verify that the applicant’s information is accurate, enter their phone number and/or email address, check the verification box, and click Submit.
An application( B2……..) number will be generated to follow up on the application status.
Once the application is approved, the applicants are notified that their e-certificate is ready for download on the IremboGov platform.
