The fingerprint certificate is issued to individuals who have been requested to provide this certificate by an embassy or any other institution. The application is then submitted to the RIB administration for review and approval. This article acts as a brief guide for the Agent when applying for the service on the user’s behalf.
The processing time is 3 days, and the service fee is 1200 Rwf.
Prerequisites:
Applicants should have a Rwandan ID, refugee ID, foreign ID, or passport photos.
Applicants should have a valid phone number, email address, or both.
Follow these simple steps to learn how you can help a user apply for a Fingerprint Certificate:
Visit the Irembo platform at www.irembo.gov.rw and log into your agent account.
A small window will pop up. Fill in both your phone number and your password, then click login.
Click the "new application" icon to start a new application.
Under the “Criminal Record and Investigation”, click on Fingerprint Certificate.
Click Apply.
Fill in the applicant’s details (national ID or passport number); the details will be retrieved and displayed on the right side of the page. Select the appointment date and the location.
Upload the required attachments in the right size and format, and click Next to proceed.

Verify that the user’s information is accurate, enter his/her phone number and/or email address, check the verification box, and click Submit.
A billing Number/ID (88…) will be generated for the user to make the payment. Click Pay.
NOTE:
After successfully applying and paying via IremboGov, and once the RIB officers have validated the application, the applicant receives an SMS/Email informing them that the certificate is ready for download from the IremboGov platform..
