How an Agent can help a User to Apply for a Certificate of Genocide Survivors

This certificate is issued by the local Government authorities at the sector level to Genocide survivors upon request to be used as a supporting document to give them access to the Assistance Fund for Genocide Survivors (Fonds d'Assistance aux Rescapes du Genocide, FARG).  

The processing time is 1 working day, and it’s free of charge

Prerequisites: 

  • Applicants should have a Rwandan national ID number. 

  • This service is eligible for Genocide survivors ONLY.  

  • Applicants should have a valid phone number,  email address, or both. 

Follow these simple steps to help a user apply for this service:

  1. Visit www.irembo.gov.rw and log into your agent account.

  1. A small window will pop up. Fill in both your phone number and your password, then click login.



  1. Click the "new application" icon to start a new application.


  1. Under the Family category, click on Certificate of Genocide Survivors.

  1. Click on Apply

  1. Add the Applicants’ details i.e. their Identification document number. 

  1. Enter the Processing Details, and they will be retrieved and displayed on the right-hand side.

NOTE: It’s advisable to choose the nearest processing office for easy follow up.

  1. Click on Next to proceed.

  1. Verify that the user’s information is accurate, enter their phone number and/or email address, check the verification box, and click on Submit.

  2. An Application number will be generated so they can follow up on their application status.   

 

NOTE: After applying successfully via IremboGov and after the Executive secretary (ES) of the processing sector has approved it, the applicant visits the selected sector office to physically pick it up.
