This service allows the user to apply for a guardianship record. The application is submitted to the civil registration officer of the sector where the child is registered. This service is provided by the Ministry of Local Government (MINALOC) and processed by local Government authorities at the sector level.
The processing time is 1 working day and the service cost is Rwf 2,000.
Prerequisites:
Rwandans should have a national ID number and foreigners should have their passport number and personal information.
Applicants should have the child’s ID/Citizen Application Number.
Applicants should have a valid phone number, email address, or both.
Follow these simple steps to help a user apply for the service:
Visit www.irembo.gov.rw and log into your agent account.
A small window will pop up. Fill in both your phone number and your password, then click login.
Click the "new application" icon to start a new application.
Under Family, click on Guardianship Record.
Click on Apply.
Fill in the identification details will be retrieved and displayed on the upper left side of the page.
Please add the Guardian Information, including their Identification document,country of residence, reason for guardianship, and other information as requested.
Add the Ward biological parents' details.
Add the Processing Details and attach the necessary documents.
NOTE: The applicant must choose the sector where the child is registered as the processing office.
Click on Next to proceed.
Verify that the user’s information is accurate, enter their phone number and/or email address, check the verification box, and click on Submit.
A billing Number/ID (88…) will be generated for payment, Click Pay.
Applicants choose the mode of payment: offline (MTN, Airtel, or BK) or online (Visa, MasterCard or American Express). For more information about the available payment modes, click here.
NOTE: After applying, paying successfully via IremboGov, and after the Executive Secretary (ES) of the processing sector has approved it, the applicant will receive an SMS/Email notifying them that their certificate is available and can be downloaded from the IremboGov platform.
