How Agents Can Apply for Rectification of Boundaries and Area Correction

The Rectification of Boundaries and Area Correction service enables landowners to request adjustments to their property boundaries and area measurements. Once the lands are rectified, new e-titles are produced. This service is provided by the National Land Authority (NLA). This article acts as a brief guide for Agents when applying for the service on the User’s behalf.

The processing time is 25 working days, and the service is free of charge.

Prerequisites:

  • Applicants should have a Rwandan National ID number and passports for foreigners or an NPR application number.

  • Rwandans and foreigners should have the land’s Unique Parcel Identifier (UPI).

  • A company should have a name, a TIN, an address, and a UPI.

  • Applicants should have a valid phone number, email address, or both.

Follow these simple steps to help a user apply for Rectification of Boundaries and Area Correction:

  1. A small window will pop up. Fill in both your phone number and your password, then click login.

  1. Click the "new application" icon to start a new application.

  1. Under Land, click on “Rectification of Boundaries and Area Correction”.

  • Once the application is submitted via IremboGov, the applicant will receive a notification through SMS or email regarding their land surveyor appointment. After the land surveyor completes the evaluation and generates a report, it will be uploaded, and their application will be submitted to the NLA.

  • Upon parcel rectification, the landowner (s) of the affected parcel(s) will receive a notification message and can download their new E-land title(s) on the NLA portal.
