This service allows local companies to apply for approval from RICA for merging or acquiring other companies. The service is provided by the Rwanda Inspectorate, Competition and Consumer Protection Authority (RICA).
Applicants must submit a fully completed list of requirements.
The processing time is 30 days, and the service is free.
Prerequisites:
An applicant should have a Rwandan ID or a Passport.
Applicants should have a valid phone number, email address, or both.

Reports, surveys, analyses, or other documents assessing the transaction concerning its impact on competition
Latest business, marketing, sales & strategic plan
Monthly & quarterly review of sales and market trends by customer category for the last three years
Monthly & quarterly review of sales and market trends by different geographic areas for the last three years
Pricing schedules including terms of discounts and rebates offered
A signed copy of the Sale and Purchase Agreement including details of the post-merger entity
Audited Financial Statements for the last three (3) years duly signed by the Board of Directors and Certified Public Accountant Member.
The latest Annual Reports, Board resolutions, and related documents regarding the merger.
A breakdown of employees, and plans to realize cost savings, efficiencies, and plans documenting investment evaluations.

Follow these simple steps to help a User apply for merger notification.
Visit www.irembo.gov.rw and log into your agent account.
A small window will pop up. Fill in both your phone number and your password, then click login.
Click the "new application" icon to start a new application.
Under the Trade and Industry category, click on Merger Notification.
Read carefully the requirements from both parties and click on Apply.
Fill in the applicant’s information (a national identification number or a passport number) and the user’s contact details.
Enter details for Acquiring and Target company as prompted.
Upload the required document in the right size and format, and click Next to proceed.
Verify that the user’s information is accurate, enter their phone number and/or email address, check the verification box, and click Submit.
An application number (B2…...) will be provided so the user can track their application status.
NOTE:
After successfully applying for IremboGov and having the application approved, the applicant receives an SMS or email notifying them that the certificate is available and that they can download it from the IremboGov platform.
