How an Agent Applies for Community-Based Health Insurance (Mutuelle)—Bulk Payment.

This service allows individuals or companies to pay Community Based Health Insurance (Mutuelle) for multiple households at once. This service is provided by the Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB). This article acts as a brief guide for agents when applying for the service on the user’s behalf.


The processing time is 1 day, and the price depends on the number of households applying for Community Based Health Insurance (Mutuelle).

Prerequisites:

  • A national identification number when applying on behalf of an individual.

  • A company TIN if applying on behalf of a company.

  • A list of all the household heads’ ID numbers.

  • A valid phone number or email address.


Follow these simple steps to help a user apply for Community Health Based Insurance (Mutuelle) - Bulk Payment.

  1. Visit www.irembo.gov.rw and log into your agent account.

  1. A small window will pop up. Fill in both your phone number and your password, then click login.


  1. Click the "new application" icon to start a new application.


  1. Under “Health,” click on Community-Based Health Insurance (Mutuelle).



  1. Select “Community Based Health Insurance (Mutuelle) - Bulk Payment” from the drop-down menu. 


  1. Click Apply.


  1. Select whether you are applying on behalf of an individual or a company.

  1. If applying on behalf of a company, enter the company TIN and verify the company details for accuracy.


  1. If applying on behalf of an individual, enter their national ID number and verify the applicant details for accuracy.


  1. Proceed to enter the household details. First and foremost, download the family details document template so the user can fill in the family details (the maximum number of families is 1,000). You will later upload the document as an attachment.

Note:

  • Make sure you have enough space on your device to download the file template.

  • Make sure that you have a good internet connection.


  1. Select the fiscal year and attach the Families Details document.

Note:

  • Any invalid IDs will be removed from the application if you proceed without editing the document.


  1. To verify that the user’s information is accurate, enter their phone number or email address, check the verification box, and click "Submit.”

Once the system completes ID verification and calculates the total amount, you'll be able to download the report. If all the IDs found are valid, the “Pay” button will appear, allowing you to proceed with payment. In case no valid IDs are detected, please review the uploaded file. 

An application number will be generated for tracking, and further updates will be sent via the user’s SMS or email.
