This service allows individuals & companies to replace their Motor Vehicle Inspection Certificate when lost or damaged. This service is provided by the Rwanda National Police (RNP).
The processing time is 1 day, and the service cost is Rwf 10,000.
Prerequisites:
Applicants should have a vehicle’s plate number and a previous inspection center.
A company should have the vehicle’s plate number, company code, and the previous inspection center. The Company code is acquired from the Motor Vehicle Inspection Center (MIC).
Individuals are not eligible to choose “Company” if they don't have a company code acquired from MIC.
The Motor Vehicle Inspection certificate should be valid, which means applicants cannot apply for an expired MIVA certificate.
To determine eligibility for the Duplicate of Motor Vehicle Inspection Certificate, applicants must first visit the Remera Motor-Vehicle Inspection Center (MIC) or call 0788311734. Once MIC approves the duplicate of the Motor Vehicle Inspection Certificate request, applicants can proceed to Irembo to submit their application and complete the payment.
Applicants should have a valid phone number, email, or both.
Follow these simple steps to help a user apply for the service:
Visit www.irembo.gov.rw and log in to your agent account.
A small window will pop up. Fill in both your phone number and your password, then click login.
Click the "new application" icon to start a new application.
Under the Vehicle Technical Inspection & Emission Testing category, click on Duplicate of Motor Vehicle Inspection Certificate.
Select whether you are applying on behalf of an applicant or a company.
Click Apply.
Applying on behalf of an Applicant:
Enter the vehicle details, including the plate number and Inspection center. Then click Next.
Applying on behalf of a Company:
Enter the company code and vehicle details, i.e, vehicle plate number and inspection center
Verify that the user’s information is accurate, enter their phone number and/or email address, check the verification box, and click Submit.
A billing number/ID (99….) will be generated for the user to make a payment. Applicants can pay using their preferred method, including MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money, BK App, BK Branches, BK Agents, or pay online using VISA or MasterCard.
Note:
After applying and paying successfully via IremboGov, the applicant can visit the Motor Vehicle Inspection Center, where the original inspection was conducted, to pick up their Motor Vehicle Inspection Certificate Duplicate. For example, if the original inspection was at Remera, the duplicate certificate must be picked up at Remera and cannot be picked up at Rwamagana.
