This service facilitates the application for a certificate for the provisional license when it has been approved upon its publishing by the plant variety registrar's office.
The processing time is 2 Days, and the price is USD 120.
Prerequisites:
Application number for the Application for Provisional Protection
Applicant should have a valid phone number or email address.
Follow these simple steps to help a user make an application for Provisional Protection:
Visit www.irembo.gov.rw and log into your agent account.
A small window will pop up. Fill in both your phone number and your password, then click login.
Click the "new application" icon to start a new application.
Under Trade and Industry, click on Plant Breeder’s right fees.
Select “Application for Provisional Protection” from the drop-down menu.
Click “Apply” to start an application.
Enter the Application number from the “Application for provisional protection” and select whether the application has completed the publishing phase of 60 days.
Click “Next”.
Verify that the user’s information is accurate, enter their phone number and/or email address, check the verification box, and click “Submit”.
A billing number/ID (88….) will be generated for the user to make the payment click pay.

NOTE:
Upon payment, you will receive another SMS and/or email to confirm the payment. Once the Plant Variety registrar's office approves, you will receive a notification to download your e-certificate via email. If you don't receive an SMS notifying you of your application status within 2 days after submission, please contact or visit the RICA office.
