How an Agent can apply to update the identification or names in a Land Registry.

This service enables landowners to make changes to the National Identification and/or names on their land title. This article acts as a brief guide for agents when applying for the service on the user’s behalf. The service is provided by the National Land Authority (NLA).


The processing time is 13 Days and the service is Free of Charge.


Prerequisites:

  • Applicant needs a valid email address or phone number.

  • Applicant needs a valid Identification document.


Conditional attachments:

  • Copy of new passport

  • Certificate of change of names

  • Supporting document


Follow these simple steps to help a user update the Identification of Names in their Land Register: 

  1. Visit the Irembo platform at www.irembo.gov.rw  and log into your agent account.


  1. A small window will pop up. Fill in both your phone number and your password, then click login.


   

  1. Click the "new application" icon to start a new application.


  1. Under "Land", click on Title Details Update. 


  1. Select “Updating the Identification or Names in the Land Register” from the drop-down menu.


  1. Click “Apply”.


  1. Select the reason for the request.


  1. Enter the user’s (Owner or legal representative)  Identification Document type and corresponding Identification number. Add their contact information and, finally, the parcel UPI. Then click “Next”.


  1. Verify that the provided information is accurate, enter the user’s phone number and email address, check the verification box, and click "Submit.”.

  2. An application number will be generated (B2…) so the user can track the status of their application.


Note:

  • Once the National Land Authority receives and approves the application, the user will receive a notification to download their updated e-title.
