How Agents can Validate the Power of Attorney Documents.
This service validates the power of attorney for documents related to legal or financial matters specifically requested by inmate families. It allows authorized individuals to act on behalf of the inmate families in legal and financial affairs. This service is provided by Rwanda Correctional Service (RCS). This article acts as a brief guide for Agents when applying for this service on the user’s behalf.
The processing time is 3 days, and the service price is 500 Rwf.
Prerequisites.
Rwandans and foreigners are eligible to apply for this service.
Required attachments.
Proof of property ownership
Bank account statements
Birth certificate of the child.
Court-approved custody agreements
Follow these simple steps to validate the Power of Attorney documents:
Visit the Irembo platform at www.irembo.gov.rw and log into your agent account.
A small window will pop up. Fill in both your phone number and your password, then click login.
Click the "new application" icon to start a new application.
Under Justice, click on “Validate Power of Attorney Documents”.
Click “Apply” to start an application.
Fill in the representative’s details (select their citizenship, country of residence, their relationship with the inmate and their phone number ).
Enter the Inmate’s details (their citizenship and correctional facility name).
Fill in the property details, i.e property type and validation details, then click Next.
7. Verify that the user’s information is accurate, enter their phone number and/or email address, check the verification box, and click "Submit."
8. A billing Number/ID (88...) will be generated for payment; click Pay
9. Applicants can choose their preferred mode of payment. For more information about payment modes, click here.
Once the Head of a facility receives and approves the application, the user will receive their e-certificate via email or download it on the IremboGov platform.
