This online service enables individuals to register for provisional driving tests and submit their applications to the Rwanda National Police (RNP). The primary objective of the theory test is to evaluate the applicant's knowledge of road rules and regulations, traffic signs, and signals. The processing time for this service is 1 day, and the cost is Rwf 5,000.
Note: This service operates on a first-come, first-served basis for slot allocation. If your preferred slot is taken, consider choosing another available date. The billing number is valid for 8 hours; if unpaid, the slot becomes available to others.
Prerequisites:
Applicants should have a Rwandan national ID.
Applicants eligible for this service should be 16 years of age and above.
Applicants should have a valid phone number, email address, or both. Using your or other people's phone numbers is not advisable, as the applicant might miss crucial notifications.
Note: Passports and certificates of national ID replacements are not eligible identification documents to sit for the provisional driving tests.
Follow these simple steps to help a user register for a provisional driving test:
Visit www.irembo.gov.rw and log into your agent account.
A small window will pop up. Fill in both your phone number and your password, then click login.
Click the "new application" icon to start a new application.
Under the “Police” category, click on "Registration for the Driving Test.”
Select “Registration for Driving Test—Provisional". Applicants can choose either paper based or computer based.
Paper Based.
Computer based.
Enter the Applicant details (national ID number). The user’s information will be displayed on the right hand side of the screen.
Choose the user’s preferred language in which to take their exam in and their preferred district.
If the user wishes to have a paper-based provisional driving test, you will be able to see available slots and be able to filter by Date, Time Range and Test center. Click “Next” after choosing a date.
If the user wishes to do a computer-based provisional test you will have to choose their preferred location and test center from the drop-down menus. Then click “Next”.
Provide the user’s valid phone number and/or email address. Confirm the information provided by checking the verification box. Finally, click the submit button to complete the process.
NOTE: Please check in with the applicant to ensure all information provided is true and correct.

NOTE: After applying and successfully paying on the user’s behalf via IremboGov, the applicant receives an SMS/Email approving their test date and center for the driving test. They will be required to be there, as stated.
