This service enables Rwandans abroad to apply for and replace their National IDs if they have lost or damaged them. The service is provided by the National Identification Agency (NIDA).
This service's processing time is 30 days, and the price is 1,500Rwf.
Prerequisites:
Applicants should have a Rwandan National ID number.
Applicants should have a valid phone number, email address, or both.

Follow these simple steps to help a user apply for a national ID Replacement:
Visit the Irembo platform at www.irembo.gov.rw and log into your agent account.
A small window will pop up. Fill in both your phone number and your password, then click login.
Click the "new application" icon to start a new application.
Under Identification, click on National ID Replacement.
Click on Apply.
Enter the required Applicant’s details (contact details, processing office),
Upload the necessary documents. (The required attachments will vary depending on the reason selected.)and click next.
Verify that the user’s information is accurate, enter their phone number and email address, check the verification box, and click Submit.
Note:
Upon submission, the application will be processed by the selected Embassy offices and National Identification Agency. The applicant will receive an email or SMS notifying them about any change in the status of their application.
Once the Application is approved, the user will receive a Bill ID that they will use to pay for their service.
Once the applicant’s National ID application has been printed. They will be contacted by a Rwandan embassy to arrange for delivery or pick-up of their new physical ID card.
