This service allows a business operating a milk collection center to register it and comply with Rwanda Inspectorate, Competition, and Consumer Protection Authority (RICA) regulations. This registration certificate is then used to obtain an operating license. Below is a brief guide on how an Agent can apply for this service on the user’s behalf.
The processing time is 14 days, and the service is free of charge.
Prerequisites
A company or an individual must have a Tax Identification Number (TIN).
Location Requirements
A milk collection center must be wall-fenced with at least a 2 m high fence.
A milk collection center must be at least 2 kilometers away from the public waste disposal area.
A milk collection center must be at least 500 meters away from industries emitting pollutants.
A milk collection center must be in a plot of at least 300 square meters
A milk collection center must have access to a three-phase power line
A milk collection center must have access to potable water
Must comply with layout, design, and structure requirements.
Follow these simple steps to help an applicant apply for Milk Collection Center Premise Registration:
Visit the Irembo platform at www.irembo.gov.rw and log into your agent account.
A small window will pop up. Fill in both your phone number and your password, then click login.
Click the "new application" icon to start a new application.
Under Trade and Industry, click on “Premise Registration.”
Select "Milk Collection Center Premise Registration" and click "Apply."
Fill in the applicant's details (select if the applicant is the business owner or legal representative, add the age group and other required personal information).
Enter the milk collection center location as prompted.
Upload the required attachments in the correct format, then click Next.
Note: Double-check that the uploaded files are in PDF format and meet the size requirements.
Verify that the applicant’s information is accurate, enter their phone number and/or email address, check the verification box, and click "Submit."
An application number (B2…...) to track your application status.
Note:
Upon successful submission, the application will be processed by RICA. Applicants will receive an email or SMS notification about any changes in the application status.
Once the processing officers approve their application, they will receive their e-certificate via email or can download it on IremboGov platform.
